Day One |
||||||||||||||
This will be the first opportunity for all the pupils involved in the project to come together. The location is the South Cerney Outdoor Education Centre and the pupils will be involved in various activities to break down barriers and get to know each other. Activities in the morning include The Sun Shines On, Hopes and Fears and Hot Air Balloon. In the afternoon pupils were rewarded with activities on the water, such as raft building and canoeing. Working with Connexions staff and members from the Youth Service, pupils made new friends and got to know old friends better. The pupils loved really enjoyed the day, especially the water sports element. One member of the Connexions team said ‘it was really good to see the pupils working together from different schools. They had such a great time, it was great to see them smiling’. School staff also commented on the progress pupils made throughout the day, especially mixing with pupils from other schools. Pupils have been given an individual target to complete their own ‘Hot Air Balloon’ with their Connexions Personal Adviser before Day Two, which will take place in October or November.
